Lukas
Lukas was diagnosed with haemophilia at nine months old. Despite his parents struggling to secure a kindergarten place for him as a result of his haemophilia, he recalls being treated normally at school except for being unable to take part in sports and other activities children take for granted, such as school trips.
As an adult, Lukas is now fortunate to enjoy swimming and cycling as part of his daily routine, which help relieve the chronic pain in his joints and support his mental and physical health.
Now, with a supportive group of friends, some of whom also live with haemophilia, as well as the support of his partner, Lukas looks forward to seeing what the future holds, not just for him, but for the haemophilia community as a whole.
